About Mudgett's

Our Company
Mudgett's Auto Body was founded in 1980 by Tom Mudgett, then fresh out of Westminster Vo-Tech where he studied collision repair and refinishing. He was later joined by his brother Jim. Together they worked repairing used cars, restoring old cars, and repairing any collision job they could handle. They prided themselves on doing quality work.
By 1989, Mudgett's had grown to a small 3 bay shop in Gamber, MD with 7 employees performing collision repair work for a local dealership and was in need of a new facility. Mudgett's made the move to Finksburg, MD to an 8000 square foot facility where they quickly added a new down draft heated paint booth. Mudgett's continued to grow by building on a reputation of quality repair work and outstanding service. The company quickly grew to 15 employees and continued to add new equipment for dealing with frames and welding.
In 1996 Mudgett's purchased ten acres fronting MD Route 140 and began designing plans for a new modern building that would be a standout collision repair facility. Finally in 2003, Mudgett's auto body was moved into a brand new 18,000 sq ft facility complete with down draft paint booths, in ground lifts, modern frame machines, and more.
Today, Mudgett's Auto Body employs a large staff of body and frame technicians, paint technicians, detailers, managers, and office staff. Backed by decades of experience, Mudgett's is a preferred shop for several insurance companies, provides services for multiple dealerships, and provides body repair and paint services to customers from all over Baltimore and Carroll County.
